The Coalition is going to make recommendations to the County and cities in Pierce County regarding the millions of federal CARES Act dollars provided to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. We’ve put together a laser-focused agenda to do just that – organizing our recommendations in four areas: Physical/behavioral health, Support for existing shelters, New shelters/safe parking/hygiene stations, and Racial equity in homeless prevention. We’ll have a few short, 5-minute presentations, and then each break into four small groups - one group for each area – facilitated by our area experts. We’ll use the ideas from the breakout groups in our end product, which will be a list of recommendations that we assemble, put a bow on, and provide to the decision makers.
